Volatile Organic Compound (VOC)
Volatile Organic Compounds are contained as solvents in numerous products. The incentive fee on VOC was introduced as a financial incentive to reduce VOC emissions and thus take account of environmental protection.
The tax is levied on importation into Switzerland or on domestic production. If a product is subsequently exported abroad, the exporter can apply for reimbursement of the VOC fee.
